Discovery Gardens
What is it?

_Discovery Gardens is a hands on agriculture program. You will learn to plant, tend, and harvest at our weekly garden classes. We provide everything you need for the class and do all the irrigation, pest management and fertilizing for nutrient density.
 
 * No gardening experience necessary.
 * You choose the plants from our Garden Guide.
 * The soil is prepared for you and ready to plant.
 * Classes offered three days per week.
 * Come to the classes and take home the harvest.
 
**Smith Farms cannot guarantee the harvest.  Only God can do that. Similar gardens have produced an averaged of 400 lbs of produce
per 100 sq ft garden.

Discovery Gardens
How does it work?

_Reserve your garden. Choose your plants from our Garden Guide catalog. Your garden will be ready to plant in the beginning of April. Come to the weekly classes and take home the harvest. This program is designed for families. There is no per person charge. Depending on the plants you choose your 100 square feet of garden will grow about **400 pounds of vegetables, so if you have a small family you may split your garden with a friend.

Enrollment Information
How much does it cost?

_* Enrollment fee is $100 payable at time of enrollment.
    This is a one time fee and covers all plants, seed, materials etc.
 * Season runs from April through September.
 * Monthly rent is $50. Due by the tenth of each month,
    April through August. -*Septembers rent is free.
 * Pay by cash or check made out to Discovery Gardens.
 

Garden Class Schedule

_For your Convenience each class will be offered 3 times per week:  Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

You may come to whichever day works best for you.

Spring Schedule- 10:00 to 11:30 am.
Summer Schedule- 9:00 to 10:30 am.

What's Cooking?

Our Summer Harvest Cooking Demo will teach you delicious ways to incorporate your garden fresh vegetables into everyday meals. Children love to help prepare the food and are more likely to eat something they picked and helped cook. Every Saturday in July and August we will harvest and prepare something delicious to eat and then post the recipes here.  Soups, Sauces, Simple side dishes, 'Sun Dried' Tomatoes, Pickles, Food Preservation and much more. The "What's Cooking" demo starts at 9:00am every Saturday in July and August.

_We cellebrate the end of the season with a pot luck Harvest Party. Games and contest, prizes and trophies are all part of the fun.
